About the Authors

Christine Schorr and Yuval Tzafrir are working together at the Hochschule für Fernsehen und Film Munich (HFF Munich), the University for Television and Film in Munich. For the past 15 years they have been giving support to film students when they were editing their movies.
Aside from University both of them work as freelance film-editors and film-makers. Christine Schorr and Yuval Tzafrir together designed the concept of this book.

**Yuval Tzafrir** has studied film directing and dramaturgy at Sam Spiegel School for Film and Television in Jerusalem. He produced all of the graphics and films in this eBook.
**Christine Schorr **was trained as an editor in the editing room and subsequently studied communication science focussing on journalism at Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich. She authored the text of this eBook. Their mutual work at HFF Munich is offering support to students in technical aspects as well as in terms of content when editing. They help searching for lost data just like they discuss dramaturgical decisions with the students. Explaining how to work with different software packages in the editorial department and designing workflows is another part of their responsibilities. From this wealth of experience, they came up with the idea to create a compilation of the basic questions and concepts regarding the editing process and to shed light on the content related dramaturgical process besides the technical craft.**Basically, “homemade-editing” is an alphabet for all subjects you come in touch with in the editorial department.**
